Reasoning??

There has to be an answer for all things that exist,
There has to be a reason but I don't know what it is,
Living is a mystery and it takes it out of me,
It keeps my mind confused and tense,
When I want it to be free!

So I drink a bit and I drink some more and I try to reason why,
That birds can fly when we just walk,
Why the Sun sets in the sky,
But the answer still eludes me as I lay down on the floor,
And I need a drink but I can't get up to get a little more!

So I think there must be questions that always will exist,
That will be short of answers as long as we get pissed,
And the birds will fly and we'll still walk and the mystery remains,
And I'll drink a bit and I'll drink some more to pacify my brain!

    Humorous yet with a sense of sadness too. Alcohol is all too often used as a crutch to get us through life.

    This is great!

    I love that it has a sense of humour mixed in with the serious thoughts raised about life, and the way the world is.

    It is quite thought-provoking too, making the reader questions their own beliefs and the answers that come to their mind while reading this.

    I really do think you have a talent for putting a good beat to your words, this poem flowed so smoothly and I really enjoyed reading it.

    I also like the use of the repetition about the "drinking a little more"

    I think this reminds me of a country type song that I can picture in a movie scene!!

    I think your title is a perfect fit too, it does really give you thought for reasoning, and the humour in the poem lies within the imagery of a person consuming too much alcohol, while trying to think deeply about this reasoning.

    Great job. Keep on writing more please :)
