Tree of Autumn, Heart of Spring

by Maple Tree   Nov 4, 2014

I was born in springtime,
shades of daffodils
covered in dew tears,
but my eyes whispered
autumn.

Little leaf

cultivated
with seeds
and seasons

growing into
a very strong,
rooted
tree.

I am Autumn-

My eyes are spring.

Seasoned by nature,
a leaf in the winds
of change.

The imagery here is gorgeous and a few lines that stood out to me were: "my eyes whispered autumn".... just the idea of that is something so enchanting, like there is more than meets the eye. The depth in our eyes is something so moving and contemplative. I also like how you speak softly and gently about the change in seasons, as that is something beautiful we all can witness. It's almost like we are living through one season, but there are always traces around us of the past season or the next one coming by.

By the way, I'm in love with the title!
