The Journey of Life

by Bill Cartwright   Dec 30, 2014

The journey of life starts with one foot put forth
We never really know where the next foot will take us on the journey called life
The twists and turns are complex, and yet some are predestined
The journeys are many, some that take a life time to make and some that take much less
The journeys often times do not have a predefined map
A map that shows the pitfalls, the rewards, and the sought after rewards
We can look down a field filled with furrows of wheat
When we look down our journey all we see is questions and decisions
We can look to our past to see where we have been
But there isn't anything we can look to the future, but we can look to the past to guide our future
Sometimes we look to God for advice
Not always is his advice clear for all to see, only a feeling captured within our soul
We find solace in the belief that his ever watching eye has our journey in his best eye

From the times of the pharaohs to the times of space travel

We all have that journey to walk that has no path, no ending, and yet it has a beginning

Filled with choices, decisions, and regrets, but all have the same

One foot in front of the other we will walk
Some will have a message for all to hear to absorb silently

And some will walk silently touching lives in a loud way

The two things that are sure, one is birth, and one is death

The journey will contain valleys of famine, and pinnacles of pain, deceit, and hard work

We will rejoice to see the road flat showing what our life has meant to others and for ourselves.
