I Am Them

My thoughts are full
But my pen is empty
There is no way
To release what's in me

So I drink this pain
From this bottle I hold
Only to become
Lost within the folds

I said I wouldn't
Become like them
But I lied to myself
And that's what I've become

I am them
By blood and bone
By bottle and green
By sticks and stones

I am them
By lies and greed
No future awaits
My tattered dreams

My dreams to fly
To soar, to spread
Lay with the bottle
Broken and dead

Burned with the ashes
Of this pipe and weed
I've broken my promise
To rise and succeed

I am them
Because I gave up
I am them
Pretend, made up

I am them
By blood and bone
By sticks and stones
By bottle and green
By ash and weed

    sucks when you become something that you don't want to be.... seems like that I relate to this very well not just the emotions but also the subject matter.... for me if flowed well so nice word choice... usually repetitive lines get tired but not this, read well in me mind.... nice work! !
