The gulf of you.

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 11, 2015

I remove all of the excess in your life,
the heavy weights of trying to balance
when foundations crack and heave
like old storm doors.

You accumulate here far too often,
filling my basin with cries for help;
You are the sinking platforms, the
lost rain, the police siren that I must
answer.

No longer will your soul be damp -
allow me to drain you of all the unneeded
sorrows, let me guide them away to
an enclosed space where they will
not overburden you.

When you become flooded, I will be here
waiting... for you cannot live when your
lungs are drowning.

5 minute poem.
I noticed I hadn't written a poem in five days which feels like eternity, so my dad prompted me with a "sump pump" and this is what I created.

I really like this poem! You did great!
My favorite part is the last stanza:

"When you become flooded, I will be here
waiting... for you cannot live when your
    lungs are drowning."

    Good job! 5/5
