Just My Eyes:

by Scott Cole   Apr 27, 2015

If I could love you
But with Just My Eyes,
I would never sleep
On either side.

For every second
They are on you,
I'd thank each one
For that wonderful view.

You're the only one
I see as a friend,
You're the only one
I stare now and then.

You're the only one
I'd skip a blink,
If I like what I see
I'll drop you a wink.

You're the only one
That I hunger for,
Your gorgeous looks
Leave me wanting more.

You're the only one
That I cry about,
Though sharp objects
Can poke me out.

You're the only one
I'd stick a needle in,
If that's not enough
Then dare me again.

You're the only one
I catch a glance,
For both my eyes
Are in your trance.

You're the only one
I wake up and seek,
That perfect picture
We call a Masterpiece.

You always could
Turn eyes in style,
Second only in History
To Mona Lisa's smile.

I like the focus on the eyes throughout the poem the entire time, and what they se, and not only by view, but by what that sight means to the character.

It is a beautiful poem, nicely laid out, and creative ending comparing this person's smile to the Mona Lisa.

    Nice job.
