The Poems Behind The Poets: (XX)

by Scott Cole   Jan 14, 2026

When silence spoke back:

You, my creation today I paused not by accident
As fragments of yesterday brought unwritten grief,
This be my new day my solitary freedom
The day my muscle memory turns a new leaf.

The cost of a moment like clockwork tiptoeing
But I am calm for it's my destiny to ink and grace,
So between past and tomorrow I plan to inhabit
The future unknown and reclaim my poetic embrace.

No more silencing the silent with passing moments
For sometimes in silence you realize family is everything,
And if it were not you and your daily task
My star- gathered poems would have no zing.

So let my once transparency now be crystal clear
For silence in no way means forgotten,
And now as my absant is escaping the wait
Amid candlelight I once again place paper to pen.

Like untethered boomerangs
I've made my return!!!!
