Love Poem

by Scott Cole   May 7, 2015

A poem is a poem
Unless it's about love,
It not only sounds good
But it comes from above

I am a love poem
With a job to do,
I will confess my love
Or wish I had you.

It is my idea
It is my thought,
I am cooked up
I am not bought.

I'm usually about love
That's lost or found,
It's all in the words
And how they sound,

The words from feelings
The feelings from you,
The reasons I love you
Or how much it's true.

Read all my words
From ear to ear,
How my heart feels
Is what you will hear.

If it is meant to be
I want say goodbye,
If it's not working out
I might make you cry.

I'm just a love poem
I'm not always appealing,
I may strike a nerve
Or hurt your feelings.
