White Angel:

by Scott Cole   Aug 18, 2015

She is the apple of my eye
The girl that fills my dreams,
My first and only love
Since we were in our teens.

Just married on our window
And cans tied with strings,
The fading of the tail lights
Was the last things to be seen.

The road was dark and wet
And it was slippery as ice,
I wish that I had pulled over
But instead I payed the price.

At the bottom of the ravene
Is where they found us both,
For better or for worse
Just like the reading of our oath.

She was thrown from the car
Her white dress stained in blood,
And as far as I could recall
I was barely covered in mud.

I crawled my way to her body
Her eyes barely hanging on,
There her lifeless body lay
And I knew that she was gone.

I raised my head up high
As tears filled up my eyes,
I kissed her on her cold cheek
And just layed there and cried.

It's been ten years ago today
Since I lost my beautiful wife,
I'm still searching for the answers
For her sudden loss of life.

In Heaven there's an Angel
That is dressed in solid white,
With a picture perfect smile
That lights up the stary night.

God had better plans for her
Than I could have ever done,
He sacrificed her to the World
Just like he did his only son.

For life is but a single moment
Just a small minute in time,
It's all about what lies ahead
And not what you leave behind.

One day soon I'll see her again
My first and only love,
The girl that fills my dreams
My White Angel up above.
