A Close Friendship

by Jonathan Jewell   Aug 24, 2015

Once long upon a time ago,
From cosmic dust two stars did grow,
And once, together, they did play,
And twinkle, twinkle far away.
But one day much trouble did beset,
Those dancing stars with much regret.
And from their places moved away,
Leaving bright sky without its day.
Such is the distance we have grown,
Apart by reasons, sad, unknown.
Moved we as stars, shift red from blue,
As such stars drift, so we did too.
But at some point we once did hold,
As they in orbit we are told.
So in my heart, I hope it's true,
These reds will fade and turn to blue.
