To the Poem-and-Quotes Site Form Parser. REF: The Poem I Wrote.

by Jonathan Jewell   Mar 5, 2021

I said to the parser
It just doesn't seem right
That you shower me with rules
At this time of night.

"Whoops!" said the parser,

And then,
WOW
what a cheek!
Quoth it through the browser,
This arrogant shriek:

"There were some problems with your input."

"The title field is required.
The terms must be accepted.
A valid category must be selected.
The subcategory field is required."

Furious,
was I at this
INSANE diatribe
[But I gritted my teeth,
And nicely replied]

"Anything else?
Kind,
dear,
parser,
Before I submit?"

The spinny thing turned,
And I waited a bit...
...
oh, yeah, just one thing:

"The title may not be greater than 64 characters."

Haha, this made me laugh. The frustration in creating just one poem :)

I had no intention of writing either of those poems tonight, I had a completely different one in my head, but by the time I'd taken part in Web 2.0's spin-off of the Browser Wars blockbuster, I had forgotten it. But when I wrote the first one, I got more problems (ANOTHER rule) what with the title length after I'd carefully made sure I did everything else right, and so I did a follow-up. Yes, I've never used more than 64 characters in a title either...
