Giving Me You

by VP Cruz   Aug 28, 2015

Was active, real early, liked football...all sports
On the other hand, I, not any of the sort
But surely the attraction was nothing short
The obvious beauty was motive to court
Our midnights, picnics, did all of those things
In the car as we drove, as I try to sing
With great retrospect, we were once young
A smile escapes, as I reminisce of the fun
There was no ridding, your attraction was fatal
In my right mind, don't know if I was able
You touched my heart, with the littlest things
However small, but with great joy it brings
My eyes close each time as we are kissing
And right at the moment, it's what I am missing
Each time the passion, I will never tire
My heart races...sigh...like a five alarm fire
Your hobbies and interests, put them aside
All your priorities, just to be by my side
How you thought highly, perhaps as your heaven
Hand in hand always, 24/7
I look at you as we go through the years
With much regret, I'm the cause of your tears
I pray the Lord, in bad and in good
Each day that we breathe, no matter the mood
Each day he blesses as each day is through
But most of all, for giving me you
