The faces so far yet within a minds reach

Things not the way they should be,
Something you wanted because you could never have,
Never knowing, never realizing, never caring, never giving a shyt.
Now that its gone, your ever missing,
Ever wondering where, what if, and always the only if,
The moments seem like yesterday, the court so familiar, the sounds comforting, and the voices that I love.
Things have changed, everything is gone, it all moved on leaving you far behind.

The people have come and gone,
Every time you see them they differ,
Then there are the ones who never get old, their faces never leave,
Those who never seem forgotten, never seen as lost, gone. replaced,
Someone you still depend on,
Someone who you still feel comfortable with, in any moment,
Those you know and need, those who when they die a part of you dies too.

As you see them again you break down inside,
It seems though you'll never have to leave, it will never end again,
But you cry, you know it will end, you will never wake up,
See that it was a dream, you can still be there with them,

A hole in your heart that was filled,
Filled only to be dug up, dug up to be casted aside,
To be hidden and forgotten, just to be rediscovered,
To be found with a curse, a curse of hope that can only lead to pain and despair, and yet another broken heart.

Now only when you stop to think about it , you know,
You see what you want, what makes you miss, what you love.

You long for one more chance, just one perfect moment,
One that you would never let go, one that this time won't end,
That you would hold closer than anything,
Something that would only bring a smile from the memories, not a sorrowful wish.
Something to live for, another reason to try.
Just to know it will never leave,
And the ones you've come to love never to leave, never to be forgotten, never to lose again.

To return not to leave,
Happy to walk with life again,
The torture brought to its end,
The nightmare to stop lasting.
