In the rough

Compasses in hands across the land;

Let us gather around and make a plan.

It's been too long so man's now lost;

Trying to find one bean in a yacht.

Onward this army of men on their quest,

Roaming the valleys and forests oppressed;

In amongst bushes and clumps of long grasses:

Scores of keen men, wishing they'd brought their glasses.

    Huh?

    I don't get it... But I noticed the rhyme scheme and how the poem painted an image of men walking in a forest.

    I did get the similes - I was just too reserved to point them out, lol. ( or so I would have you believe!) It actually really is a very clever piece.

    I certainly did note the acrostic form. A quite shockingly brilliant piece, lol.
    What I love about your work is how creative it is; you always strive for originality, never resting on your laurels.
    And just to think, all those men putting so much effort into a search for a cl.......four leaf clover!

      - Bushes

      - Clump of grasses

      It is sometimes difficult telling a joke when you know the punchline. lol

    Another little gem from you. I can just picture an army of men in search for something that is very hard to find.
