Shadows Of Night:

by Scott Cole   Nov 8, 2015

As the Shadows Of Night
Move across the blue skies,
And the prominent daylight
Starts to slowly go blind.

The moon and the stars
Both come into clear focus,
And the splendor of day
Is interrupted and broken.

The newly greyish horizon
Becomes darker over time,
And all that illuminates
Does so beautifully shine.

Now the darkened canopy
Becomes crawling with life,
The sounds of the creatures
They cut deep like a knife.

The air is cool and brisk
And cradles you real tight,
It consumes your breath
Like a thief in the night.

The madness and mayhem
Cast an apparition of doubt,
Making all the living things
Much harder to figure out.

The smell of success fades
As all comes to a standstill,
It's like time is paralyzed
For all is calm and tranquil.

As the Heavens grow darker
The dead of night is at peace,
And the still of the serenity
Along with harmony is released.

For all is quiet and near empty
Just a few echos ringing out,
God Bless the nightly shadows
That are speckled throughout.
