Self Centered Silence

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 6, 2015

Silence soothes me much like the winter cold
I learned to love numbness as I grew old
The darkness does not seem bad anymore
Things will never be the same as before
The stench of my death can only be smelt
By those who have tasted this life unfelt

Growing older can do it. Time has been flying and sometimes lost. A powerful write. Very touching.

Oh this gave me goosebumps.. A dark write from you Michael, a ton of depth and powerful message...

To grow older, feeling a sense of loss at times, that is what I feel when reading this poem... very intense poem, well done!
