Being Prepared

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 18, 2015

Some of my memories are good
of cutting and stock piling wood
making sure the chimney is clean
checking everything in between
when the weather breaks it's too late
the ice and snow seals our fate
I would much rather be safe and sound
than procrastinate hunkering down
There is no feeling better I'm sure
in the warmth of a shelter secure
