Two Rosy Hearts:

by Scott Cole   Feb 8, 2016

If i was a flower
In your rose garden,
Yet if i'm a burden
I beg your parden.

I require your attention
I desire your time,
But i also do know
I must walk the line.

I'm wilting away
Starving for affection,
But your tears of joy
Will help my complexion.

My color is lacking
My petals a mess,
Your picky eyes
Are hard to impress.

The root of my problem
It lies beneath me,
I'm all dried up
From neglect yes indeed.

I need your green thumb
To stimulate my pulp,
Or but a little sip
From your loving cup.

The competition is stiff
Love is a battlefield,
If you pass me over
My future is sealed.

For who shall it be
That adorns your vase,
Suits your lonely heart
Lights up your face.

I've did all i could
To show off my glee,
I'm one among many
So please just pick me.

If i was the flower
In your rose garden,
I'll treasure our love
And always guard it.
