Unlovable Storm

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 12, 2016

These hidden fragments of us
endlessly disappear,
some of them confessing
what I silently feared all along.

Please don't hesitate to tell me
why you are folding us away
like ironed clothes,
in the back of a crowded wardrobe.

You cannot possibly hurt me
any more than you already have
by suddenly walking away.

I apologise that your view
of this girl has been broken,
but I did try to warn you
that loving me,
is like trying to cuddle a stormy sea.

I have to say, the title caught me this time. I've been reading recently about how we feel unloved and how to love ourselves, so I was intrigued.

"Please don't hesitate to tell me
why you are folding us away
    like ironed clothes,
in the back of a crowded wardrobe."

    - Powerful simile! This one really stuck in my mind. Here you're asking so clearly for that answer... for communication through the chaos or uncomfortable moments.

Hmm, that hurts my heart. How someone can walk away. And you wonder if you can attain closure. And you know how people always say "it happens for a reason?" yeah, that doesn't help until you've come to peace with it. It's sad when love leaves in ANY way for any reason.

Dang, that last line hit me so hard!

Love this one... have some serious catching up to do ;)
