The Essence Of Me:

by Scott Cole   Feb 13, 2016

That photosynthesis
Running through my skin,
That turns my color
Green from within.

It's my food for energy
It radiates me,
It warms me up
It helps me breath.

My spider veins
Inside each tiny leaf,
Full of that green stuff
Down under neath.

I lay in the sun
Soaking up my food,
To stay alive
And improve your view.

I am a leaf
A leaf on a tree,
And green is the color
That looks good on me.

This is a fun nature piece!

Im always writing about leaves and trees but this piece here is just fun!

It brings the leaf alive and actually this would be a great learning poem for children!!
