Navy Blue Lifeboats:

by Scott Cole   Feb 16, 2016

Shore to shore
Her coastline on guard,
Her waters are safe
No ships in her yard.

From the top of the deck
It starts to get dark,
Soon all passing boats
Will all leave their mark.

The waters alittle choppy
Its pulling straight down,
If not for the lifeboats
I'm sure I would've drown.

Cause right out of nowhere
The peaks of the Earth,
All those little lifeboats
They slowly emerged.

I lached on to one
As tight as could be,
That one the closest
And the easiest to see.

With the passing storm
Her waters settled down,
And the last thing standing
Is a half hung up frown.

Then and only then
Will her coastline clear,
Clear of those lifeboats
Thats shaped just like tears.

For she stands for honor
A good battle fought,
She stands for patience
Just a forethought.

She runs the tightest ship
With hardly a bruise,
And she does it all
In her torn Navy Blues.
