Soil and Stanzas

by Maple Tree   Jun 29, 2016

Words are mere
syllables of the
soul,
captivating
creatures,
punctuating
in rhythm
of my heart beat

You see me
scribbling tears
crossed a tree that has
spared its life so that I
may express mine

It's a rebirth
of nature-
preservation
of earthy emotions

I've got soil
embedded in
fingernails,
along with
stanzas
that beg
for
forgiveness

Such a free spirited
way to talk about poetry-

yet...

It's is the only way I know how

Andrea, a simple, straight to the point write that is so beautiful done (as always.)

Love this opening. I can hear the sound of your heart beat as it goes with the rhythm of poetry. Lovely imagery and the way you separate the words in to short, sharp bursts make it more exciting and like the rhythm of the heart beating as it reads something as enthralling as this..

    Beautifully put.

Loved the words you used here and you're right our emotions and rebirthing us as poets (I feel that's what it means anyway)

    stanzas
    that beg

Andrea, this is pure genius. The soil embedded in your finger nails show that you've had a stressful life (I think) and that there's a lot of baggage especially with you saying 'stanzas that beg for forgiveness' but it's what makes us who we are today.

And you know what it's your way or the highway Hehe :p in that I mean great job!
