Blinded

by Emily Wacker   Jul 1, 2016

A king and a queen,
the ideally perfect team,
they rule it all,
so they must stand tall,
it took them long to get where they are,
but the past isn't as far as they think,
they think they can easily trick,
but we ourselves will pick,
every jewel out of their crowns,
every bit of pride they fake,
is just another stride we take,
anyone can fake a smile
anyone can fake power,
but only a select few get away with it,
everyone "wonders why",
when they all know their answers,
they just won't admit it,
as if it isn't staring them directly in the face,
they claim to be blind,
when it's in their everyday lives.

Their pride stands tall over their capabilities,
they are just society's pretty face-
completely fake,
to hide what not all people can take as the world today.
