WONDERLAND

WONDERLAND
I had a dream last night about a man
who was on a quest for a place called Wonderland
He had been searching for many a year
"I don't know if I'll ever find it" he began to declare
"I started my search when I was very young
while my brothers and sisters played in the sun
I walked along oceans, with the waves crashing down
I looked left and right, but it wasn't to be found
I walked through the meadows, with the flowers in bloom
but I could not find it, I was full of gloom
I searched the Grand Canyon, and looked down inside
but it was not there," he began to confide
"I went to the Redwood forest, with the giant trees
when I didn't find it there, I dropped to my knees
and shouted to God, where can it be?
No answer came, just a butterfly landing on me"
The sun was now setting, all red, purple, and gold
when he then told me, "I'm getting to old
I have searched my whole life, looking high and low
I never found it, I can no longer continue to go"
That was the last he said, then laid down and died
It disturbed me so much, that I cried and cried
That poor soul, Wonderland was all around
wherever he looked it was there to be found
