Emily's Grace

Made-up words and silly faces,
Blanket forts and hiding places.
Jumping on beds, playing pretend,
Snapping pics with my best friend.
Dance parties and giggle fits,
It's hard not to love you to bits!

Scraped knees and bug bites,
Temper tantrums and restless nights.
Making messes, getting scratches,
Loud noises, shouting matches.
Goodbye kisses, a whispered lullaby,
It breaks my heart to see you cry.

Watching movies, singing along while holding hands,
Going on adventures to far away lands.
Sharing each moment, the good and the bad,
Some days it feels like you're all I ever had.
Expressing love is hard, but this is a start,
Near or far, you will always be in my heart.
