To Often

by Crissy Taylor   Nov 6, 2016

To often we don't realize what we have until it's gone,
To often were to stubborn to say sorry I was wrong,
To often it seems we hurt the ones closest to our hearts,
an we let the most foolish things tear us apart.

To often we don't say I'm sorry,
To often we keep it all bottled up,
Most of all we never say I love you like we should.

Maybe in the end we can put the past behind us,
an move on to a bigger an better future,
Where no one has to say "what if."

Chrissy, this is a very thought provoking and honest piece with plenty of food for thought and some great advice which we could all adhere to. Fantastic rhyming too.

1: Yes all too often we regret letting things go or do not realise how much something or someone means to us until it is too late, we are too stubborn to say sorry and when we do say sorry it seems to be either shot down or too late and hurt the ones closest to us because of the stubborness of saying sorry or not in some cases. Things that are so foolish will hurt us because we let them.

2: Again, I am nodding sorry is one of the hardest words to say but it is so easily said that sometimes its unbelievable and we keep things bottled up because we are afraid of asking for help and no we don't say we love the people we love as often as we should, again a phrase used all too often.

3: I love this ending its really thought provoking and so true, if only. I think there's a typo on an and it should be and.

All in all fabulous write. Nominated.
