Cliche

by Brookie   Dec 13, 2016

Im
Nothing
more than some
crumpled up old
cliche that never
found a purpose in its
existence; yet I still weep
whenever you hold me closely.
Validation is still key for me
yet you'll never read me till im dead

You are more than a cliche <3

Such a powerful piece. That word "validation" speaks deeply to me, as I know firsthand that yearning to be validated, to have your pain acknowledge, to be somewhat understood.

    Take care

Brookie, I love this form and I have tried it myself but it's never been good lol so I gave it up as a bad job but I'm glad as I am leaving it to the experts :)
You have said so much in such a short form too which speaks volumes to many of us especially me.

I was going to break it up and tell you what I thought about each section but I didn't know where to break it up so obviously I left it.

Anyway, to feel like a cliche (which I assume is the stereotype definition) is very sad and I guess because of everything you are going through you would feel like that but you shouldn't, society is an ass and should accept us all for who we are without labels or stereotypes and it frustrates me that it doesn't.

    "yet I still weep
    whenever you hold me closely"
    ^^
What I got from this was sadness' (obviously lol) because I could only think of those that hurt us the most, love us the most if that makes sense and even though they hurt us all we want is them to hold us close so that we can cry into their shoulders. Maybe I am completely wrong though.

We all need validation and I don't think any of us would be read until our dying day.

    Take care, Em

Wow Brookie. Love the layout. Seems Larry has started something!
This layout is popping up a lot!

On another note. How sad. Dont forget we are all here if you need to vent and we all care about you more than you may realise.

Brookie, this was really good, so sad though. No matter how insignificant you feel never think you are. You mean more in this life than you will ever realize. Hugs-

Funny. This piece wasnt really aimed at anything but i felt very small so...i gues how i felt came out in the poem. I was just venting because of how things are going in my life
