Rain And Sand

by Domenico Sottile   Mar 28, 2017

My mother’s face
announcing my father’s death
was in the falling rain
and the eyes of my father
accusing the fury of my mother’s death
in the blowing sand

When rain and wind marry
no one can remain on the beach
Without recondite caresses of love
there is no shelter

Often some one is thinking of doing the right thing
but it turns out not to be so at all
it is best to keep one’s mouth shut
‘cause the entire body is hurting
especially the soul
That is the time to begin to walk alone
on the sandy beach
letting the soul fly over the ocean

But there is no fresh water
and it returns with a salty taste in the mouth
