Harvest

by AngelaLuisaCory   May 7, 2017

I will come to gather you
And take you to my heart.
The very beat of time and space
That sets us both apart.

I do not know the truth that is
Nor longing to be so,
But I'll tend this tiny seedling
From the kernel that I sow.

I will come to gather you
And take you to my soul
And hope that you'll not trample me
As I begin to grow.

I will nurture, care and tend
With salty tears that flow
And heat with sun's warm kisses
And the soft, cool breeze that blows

A beautiful rhyming poem full of hope and promise. At first read with the message so clear and clean and the flawless rhyme scheme I wanted more, but having re read it a number of times the four stanzas is the right fit, making it a concise and powerful read. Totally captivated thank you!

I'm a little late to the celebration but congrats. Again beautiful imagery. Your command of tempo is impressive, I was tapping my foot as I read this.
