[Unnamed]

I can see the glistening
of the full moon on the
Shimmering water that
falls down from this
crevice that I stand above.

I embrace the
Never-ending battery of the
Waves as they collide
With the river below.

At this particular time,
Of this particular day,
Of this particular month,
I remember when you and I
made a pact to
Never leave one another's side,
And that our love for one another
Was as passionate as the
Erosive forces of this
Mighty waterfall.

Yeah, you were right,
These waters are pretty damn erosive,
As erosive as the house of cards
That you decided to build
Over the delicate balance that
Was once our relationship.

And now,
All that's left is the
Canyon that separates us
From what once was.

I will admit that I
Spend countless nights
Standing on top of this cliff
Reminiscing on all of the
"I love you's" we shared,
All of the pinky promises we placed in the past,
All of the secrets spilled under the simmering sun.
All of the birthdays we shared,
The holidays we adorned.

And now you're over there,
Sharing similar secrets to someone that I shall never know,
Nor could ever know.

But at least you gave me the
Wisdom and the knowledge that my
Feeble mind was lacking,
And now I have learned that
Water is not meant to be
Kept in a container,
But rather, it must be
Set free,
Like a calm river,
Or a crashing wave.

I still need to learn how to be like water,
But trust me, my love,
One day I shall,
And when that day comes,
You're going to wish that you
Waded in my waters for
Just a little longer.
