Fairytale Rescue:

by Scott Cole   Aug 23, 2017

Tonight her soul needs a brave knight
Dressed in shining armour,
To protect her fragile feelings
From emotions that harm her.

She's a damsel in distress
A tortured prisoner of love,
Who holds alot of resentment
That only a Fairytale could get rid of.

For she's locked inside a dungeon
Those steel bars on her heart,
Out of touch from reality
So the darkness tears her apart.

She's pleading for mercy
And begs for peace of mind,
From a precious prince charming
That can help her unwind.

That hero she dreams of
Finally removes her dagger of regret,
She slowly awakes from her nightmare
And they ride off into the sunset.

Great incorporation of the fairytale theme into a poem. I too liked the 'dagger of regret'.

Omg, Scott... how wonderful to have this prince charming! Who doesn't need a fairytale rescue? Excellent story here and beautifully told in rhyme.
