The Dawn

by Nobody   Aug 28, 2017

I know the look your eyes give
when you’ve been stuck
far too long, alone in the dark

It’s an ever lasting night
which spills across the sky so thick,
even the stars refuse to shine

With no moon to guide you
away from hazards cliffs and fatal drops
it is easy to venture too close to the edge

The silence screams so loudly
in the forest of your mind
it’s no wonder no one has noticed

But I am here my friend
I hear the words your heart longs to say
and heed to the cry for help

Grasp my hand and sit with me
We shall wait for the sun to rise
I promise the dawn is almost near.
