Love Triangle

by Lemon Squeezy   Feb 10, 2018

He found a love stronger than one could ever tell,
She too found romance deep and true.
Still deeper into love the two of them fell,
Alas, their love was n'er just betwixt the two.

Both affairs began in youth, an age, it seemed ago,
Everyday, they'd steal away, to a secret rendezvous.
He with His lover and she with hers also,
Each would spend easily an hour or two.

He would travel the world if his love a secret remained,
He'd Climb highest mount or swim an ocean or two.
Shed count all here a loss plus all above unworthy gain,
To keep her lover a secret too.

Some thought their case strange, bizarre, or odd,
For His lover and hers alike are both one in the same.
'Twas a beautiful triangle 'twix they two and God,
And so, the lover's love for each other, much closer became.

note to reader: (In light of Valentine's day I suppose;)

I love the fact that you penned a piece for Valentine's. I'm a huge romantic so for me love is something to be celebrated. Love comes in many forms, the love of family and friends and as shown here the love of God.

The deep love you feel when you love God can be as intense as that you feel for your husband or wife which in turn can make you feel like you are caught in a love triangle. Your poem takes us through an endless journey where love grows steadily stronger despite the obstacles it faces. Best wishes Milly
