Sad walls

by Kereen   Feb 11, 2018

Every brick was black
The paintings pale
The Scarlet rose charred
The window side frail

The roof was gray
But the rains came in
It was like watching a ghost
pay for his sin

Building a house of sadness
Is so much pain
Each brick different
Each brick the same

These sad walls
Old walls with stories to tell
They've seen love between
past lovers
They've seen betrayal
They've seen hell

You see a a high wall
keeping out the hurt
But I see a wall
covered by too much dirt

A little love in the kitchen?
No that won't do
For these sad walls
saw what love did to you

No solution then
Keep shutting them out
For no one wants these sad walls
Nor the stories they talk about
