Rising Above

I do not know
what someone’s words
try to leak

In their life
there was dark
but on it
I shed
like a lark
some melodious light
without a fight

Therefore they ought
to not speak
and call me weak

As for me
there is no reason
to be mad
yes
they drown the good
when they focus on the bad

I remember once I said
focus on the good
and drown the bad
