Faster

by Kate   Apr 25, 2018

What do you call a heartbreak
That feels like your heart ain't there anymore?
An explosion, corrosion
Of all the feelings you had before

What if this emptiness in my chest never fades away?
What if the light in my green eyes turns to gray?
What if my world is, now, forever changed?
What if you stayed?

(I don't think I'll ever know)

You left, like the winds had somewhere important to take you
You left, like you found the holy grail to something new
You left like I didn't even matter
You left and didn't care about the shatter
You left, faster than I said I loved you

(You left)
(You left)

I really can relate with everything here! =) I love all of your poems but this one is one of my favourites! Great piece! I liked how you wrote about being forgotten. I know how hard that feels! I hope you're okay.

Judging Comment - Faster by Kate points 4 - This resonated a lot with me and I found myself singing along though saddening there was an upbeat tune about it.

    Kate,
A piece with sadness all the way through. I hope some colour comes back to you

This is so very sad but so delicately done... We will no doubt all be able to relate to this and after a break up it's natural to feel like you don't belong anywhere but believe me (and it comes from experience) when you're least expecting it you'll find 'the one' or atleast someone who knows your worth and believe me they'll see perfection even in those imperfections that you have and I say this is the nicest possible way because I know we all have imperfections and I know they make us perfect in our own ways anyway enough of my ramblings...
    Take care
