There was Us, There is Only You

by Bleu   May 4, 2018

The day we met, you walked into the room.
The universe stood still, hope loomed.
Blue eyes dark enough to make anyone's heart skip.
But, excitement filled me as I memorized your face, eyes, and lips.

It could not be, no one would understand.
But, you, did you notice the quivering in my hands?
Nervousness filled me, avoiding eye contact when your eyes wandered my way.
Did you notice the uneasiness in the way my body lay?

Surely you seen it, the curiosity that filled my soul.
Then it hit me, in the chest, A sharp blow.
You were the only thing I noticed, weren't there others in the room?
Who would have thought that we would be here, not a moment too soon?

Destiny? Fate? I will never question.
You are my happily ever after, no more life lessons.
