My Playground

by Maple Tree   Jun 22, 2018

Hidden messages adorn a sunrise
where my eyes engage in simple conversation,
wanderlust meets silhouetted greetings;
whispers I can't ignore.

Dewdrops dance upon freshly born grass, igniting
tomorrow's growth during a hazy afternoon of summer,
lazy conversation and heated sun , blankets a weary soul
as my day completes the insanity of chaos.

I forgive thunderstorms that plague my mind
because I can embrace natures purity-
emptiness can be filled with earthy simplicity;
I choose not to invite darkness into my playground
of trees and freshly grown flowers.

    First I want to say that I am so glad to see this nominated. Honestly Andrea I just want to hug you. This write here brought tears to my eyes and it hits home.
    I have lived my life for most part in darkness. Was I born this way, is it a choice, abuse, losses, I have asked myself so many times. You are a beautiful soul, you are a daisy who will pull through. Pulling out from this darkness will take all of the energy but there is light. You have great determination and you are a survivor and you have helped so many and you still do. You can do this and you are loved by so many. Hugs to you

    life is too short to wallow in life's darkness. The best way up and out, is to swim towards the light. Kick hard and fast - make the lightness last! ((hugs))

    Andrea, in all the chaos that's been your life as of late the mere fact you can find peace in anything is amazing. But I am so glad you do. You need it. Nature has this amazing way of putting our soul at rest. It gives us strength and peace to face another day. Hugs-
