She baptized me in a rain of sweat
and preemptive kisses;
setting a frenetic pace my heart
could only dream of catching up to.
Tortured hands and tempestuous hearts were
both forsaken as we washed away our
sins in a shower of empathy
and acceptance.And like a rip current she stole a kiss and
drifted into the sunrise during high tide;
leaving only some damp scarlet
half-moons scattered near my clavicle.

Metaphoric brilliance this week by Aegis!
This writer amazes me with his creative design and flare
with words and visual display.
Loved every line!
"And like a rip current she stole a kiss and
drifted into the sunrise during high tide;"
A new twist to the Ocean metaphor. Just beautiful!!!
