nature's gift

by Mr. Darcy   Oct 9, 2018

Her hair blows softly like the wind
Against my skin so welcoming

Upon the mountain path so high
We breathe against the moving tides

And like the swelling of the sea
My heart does beat so ardently

For lady love is with me now
Her hand in mine forever – wow!

Straight from the Romantic era! And I've just been reading about the Romantic poets, Keats especially, so this couldn't be more fitting. As Michael says, nature and love is always a winning combination.
Glad to see this nominated as I'm all out.

Another lovely poem I enjoyed from you Mr Darcy.

A lot of the poem feels like you are on top of the world so to speak and love should make you feel that way. The title is perfectly connected to the poem itself because of the way you used metaphors to create a perfect image of this person you seem to be in love with. Like for example the second couplet:

It tells me that after waiting for such a long time you found each other when you needed each other the most, basically a sigh of relief and now you are able to breathe again.

Everything this person does makes your heartbeat swell as love should make you feel.
You feel lucky and blessed and I love how you compare this person to nature because they can both be beautiful and they both can set you free. Well done.
