My heart breaks for you. We recently lost our beloved dog and the house and our hearts will never feel the same. We're left with all these memories but I know there will be times, no matter how many years from now, when I'll break down crying. Even coming home, I notice how different things are. I hope tomorrow you find some strength and always, support.

Sending you lots of warmth and my deepest condolences. They are truly a part of us, to our core, and it's never easy grieving <3

Craig, I have lost two dogs in my life and both losses have affected me profoundly. I now have a dog called Willow who is a 60kg Leonberger and she quite literally is like another child to me; she is always at my side. She is only two, and already I worry for myself in the years ahead; I truly don't know how I'll cope without her.
So why do it to ourselves? Well, I believe that if we spend our whole lives running away from emotions - be them good or bad - then there is little point in us being here. I don't wantto be numb my whole life. So yes, I'll f........ing take the good and then I'll take the f.....ing bad that redresses the balance...and then I'll do it all again just to prove that I'm not scared of f....ing well living - but more than that - to prove I am alive.

    Craig, take care

      I've always had dogs.

      I lost 2 as a youngster.

One a few years ago, she wasn't mine but was too if you get where I'm coming from. Regardless of who's dog it is I'm still dad!

Tyke is my baby boy and my first dog who chose me as his own.

17 years of love and loyalty is a hard thing to dispatch. We have seen and been through so much together.

      Crushed!

Thank you for your words Ben. Unfortunately they do little for my mood.

      Regards as always

      Craig

I guess I'm just not a people person

No problem, Craig - I wasn't expecting to be able to help - not really. Cliches and crap like that are just something else people have to put up with at times like these. But one day, they do make some twisted sort of sense.
17 is a bloody long time - I truly am sorry for you, good man.

      DBLI .

As gently as possible I guess.

The big old fluffy soft arsed wolf sleeps in the garden now.

My son despite his attitude and fondness of the weed was a massive help.

      Regards

It's always heartbreaking to lose a member of your family. Pets are family. Usually the best kind, as they are always there to listen and comfort, no matter the circumstance.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Beautiful yet heartbreaking write.
