10. Fall In Love

by Sai   Nov 24, 2018

One day, I'll tell
my children
that a single
layer of paint
can hide so many
different things.

One day, it will
be October again.
We'll walk the dog
and the sky
will grow pink,
blushing at the
thought of you
returning home.

I had a quick read through your poetry. I think it’s difficult to pigeonhole you, as your style changes quite a lot. I loved this, though. I enjoy the mystery of the first stanza, and the metaphor is strong. Alone, it would also be an awesome poem. Not that the second stanza isn’t good or it doesn’t add anything but the imagery is more obvious. It’s...prettier.

You penned a wonderful piece here. I really enjoy this style of poem. I would nominate it if I could!

I'm taking this as a compliment. It may be the gaps between writing one poem and another that shifts my writing style. A lot of things could happen between 2 poems! Thanks for the kind words.
