The New Year's Blues

by Domenico Sottile   Jan 1, 2019

The New Year’s Blues

It wasn’t about winning
just about making a living
Someone needed
to be thought
a lot of

Love is not the same
when fright is what
someone lives of
and survives
without shame

Someday those feelings
will be gone
for all the work
is now done
and just
with a few hours of rest
it is fun

Perhaps they are
the New Year’s blues
No biting words
should be used
because
you see
they never bring
harmony

Someone‘s heart felt defeated
many years ago
elsewhere
to find strength
that one had to go

The obstacles
made it appear bare
But someone tried
even though
it wasn’t fair
