You Are The Best

by Robert Long   Feb 24, 2019

Sadness was your prison.
I was your book.
You sat in the darkness.
While your words i took.

You stayed alone.
But all the while I knew.
You couldn't take anymore.
And that your time was through.

Before you got up.
I slid a note on your desk.
You opened it as I walked.
It read you are the best.
