Saying Goodbye

by ddavidd   Apr 25, 2019

~~Last year~edited~ for Robbin ~~

No more alone, no more me;
I am ready to move in with you
in the world that will be soon
empty from you,
empty without you.

Though
I am going to live
I am going to celebrate you,
your life
your presence in me,
the way you would have enjoyed
living it.

I bless you for the music
I bless you for the flower
I bless you for the hummingbirds of appetencies
I bless you for the funfairs of reminiscence
for the children songs in the playparks
I bless you for childhood carousels of joy
I bless you for every moment
that we grew up bouncing up and down
on the seesaw of childhood and parenthood

I love you for the fountains
of childhood dreams,
these pictures that are engraved in my soul,
these candles that are going to burn forever
in your eternal temple in my heart.

I bless you for your courage,
taking death like a spoonful of throat syrup
I use to give you when you coughed
I bless you for oceans that now I see in your soul
I bless you for eternity that now
looks exactly like you,
for the world that is going to look forever
as beautiful as
you
in my heart
before you said goodbye.
