Anchor

by Anne Moore   May 10, 2019

You are my anchor
You keep me from going adrift
Yet I still float
Some say you're tying me down
Others say you keep me from leaving
You keep me grounded
But you help me fly

You are my anchor
You’re pulling me down
Now I’m sinking
You're drowning me
I can’t get free
You’re choking me
I can’t breathe
You’re suffocating me
And I can’t do it anymore
