You Always Seem To Leave

I close my eyes and see your face
Your in my waking dreams
And every time we get to close
You always seem to leave

I go to hold you close to me
But you just pull away
And when I ask you why you do
You say it's because I cannot stay

I go to hold your hand
But you pull that away as well
Why do you keep on doing this
When you've got me under your spell

You tell me that you love me
You say I'm all you want and need
So why is it every time I close my eyes
You always seem to leave?

I tell you that I love you too
That you're the only one for me
I want to spend my life with you
So why can we never be?

I told you I would marry you
I'd give my life for you
I would do anything
I don't care if they don't approve

I Understand how hard it is
To be so far apart
But not this fate that we've been dealt
And it always breaks my heart

You promise you will always be here
You tell me to believe
So tell me why, when i close my eyes
Why do you always seem to leave?

    This poem (and this is only my own interpretation) reminded me of a saying I used to hear a lot when I was in my teens. "It's all about the thrill of the chase." Sometimes sadly in relationships there are people who are just interested in the chase. Once they have lured in their 'prey' and got what they want they quickly lose interest and either leave or leave and keep coming back whilst they either date others or look around for something better. It's not love and can be damaging to the other person but the perpetrator has already spotted his next challenge. Milly x

    I understand why this is your dream. I get why all this has made you feel that way and I know you say it’s just a dream but it’s the one you wrote before anything else so is it really just a dream or something you actually feel.. xx
