A Lost treasure (revisited)

Looking through lost items of my past
I found A long lost forgotten treasure
A gift an old pocket watch giving to me from a time past
A treasure from a love I thought would last

To me a special a memory which I thought could last
An old pocket watch from you an old treasure from my past
But in this life that old watch slowed down

As time went on like our love it faded to a halt
Not a chance to fix it not a chance to make it work

The watch now found for me has stopped

Now years later the memory again was found

A memory I thought had long been lost
Gone forever to never to find again

But looking at this treasure now
I see how it stopped on that day it was lost
That day I had always tried to forget

That special treasure found from my past
A gift of time thought lost with time
Counting our days up until our last
Now no longer counting for time now stands still
