When Wolves Cry Man

by Maher   Sep 19, 2019

Today, my son, we hunt.
The flock over yonder will sate our hunger.
We'll take what we need from it's blessing
by neither raid, nor plunder.
One from the many is all we need
to leave our bellies full and devoid of greed.

Be not like man.
Tread the earth with humility, not pride.
What ills you ponder, expel from your mind!
There's no room in the heart for injustice!
Life is grand, when lived like this.
Be not like the ones who waste for bliss.

Speak only truth in the face of lies.
Swallow your tongue when struck with pride.
Be thankful for each and all you have
and share with those of weaker brand.
Cry not "Man!" as they do us;
be not like those that are unjust.
