Closest To Home

by Walter   Oct 29, 2019

I have travelled all around the place
I have seen the world and all its grace
From natures beauty untouched and grand
To impressive structures built by man

No matter how much I'm left in awe
My desire always begs for more
To sights unseen I'm urged to roam
Any place that is far from home

Though this is the town I've always lived
Its sights I've seen and it no longer gives
As to all the worlds amazing views
Up until the day that I met you

As I try to behold such a delight
My eyes never seeing an adorable sight
Compared to your beauty your warmth and your stance
The rest of the world doesn't stand a chance

Now no longer do I feel an urge to explore
Everything I want is standing before
My own eyes and tightly holding my hand
As we both walk towards our unexplored land
